WHCT at the CWC 2023 Wester Hailes Carnival

The Trust was overjoyed to attend the 2023 Wester Hailes Edinburgh Carnival at the Westside Plaza on July 8th. The event was organised by the Community Wellbeing Collective and supported by SCORE Scotland, the City of Edinburgh Council, Edinburgh Festival Carnival, Edinburgh Art Festival, and Culture Edinburgh. It was a fun filled day brimming with community joy as the Edinburgh Carnival performed an amazing Caribana style procession with dancing, singing, drumming, and costumes galore! Other activities included art making stations, live poetry and music, face painting, and a caribbean community meal. At the Trust’s stall we shared our community events calendars, chatted with locals, and handed out bubbles to the wee ones. We can’t wait for next year’s festival!
