Meeting Porty Community Energy Re. LPP Project 19, Re-Parking & Mobility Hub

The Trust and Madhavi of SCORE Scotland had the pleasure of taking a trip out to Portobello this past month to visit the Porty Community Energy Mobility Hub. Porty Community Energy is a community organisation in Portobello (Edinburgh) that is interested in reducing carbon emissions and helping the community transition to low carbon living. In an effort to accomplish this, PCE has set up a shipping container mobility hub/bike library which has cargo bikes and e-bikes available for loan. WHCT and SCORE met up with team members Susanne and Hazel to get some insight on their experience, the community response thus far, and to see what learnings we can apply to our own future mobility hub in Wester Hailes. The Trust is currently working with the City of Edinburgh Council to make this a reality. This would be in accordance with LPP Project 19, Re-Parking, and it’s proposal for a mobility hub in Wester Hailes.

Keep an eye out for further updates shortly!
