Community Cruise Along the Union Canal

We had such a blast at our Community Cruise Along the Union Canal which took place last Thursday, September 14th. Community members joined the Trust for a 2 hour cruise from Wester Hailes to Fountainbridge. Along the way we discussed the role that the canal plays in the community, what we’d like to see from a Canal Site Community Hub, and how we can better connect with and learn from canalside communities in Edinburgh. In addition to this, attendees partook in canal themed art, danced along to canal themed tunes, and shared a delicious community meal by Tasting Change, all the while taking in the gorgeous canal scenery!

This trip was in accordance with Project 13 (Canal Improvements), Project 18 (Canal Bridge), and Project 24 (Canal Site Community Hub) of the Wester Hailes Local Place Plan 2.0 which can be viewed here.
