Membership

Why Should I Join??

Being a member means you have a say on how WHCT is run and what activities it  supports. As a member you can help us to achieve our aims and help shape the future of Wester Hailes.

Who Can Apply?

WHCT has different categories of membership. These are:

  • Individual Membership
  • Corporate and Associate Membership
  • Honorary Membership

Individual Membership

You can apply to join WHCT if you are aged 16 or over AND Live in Wester Hailes within our defined boundaries

Individual Members have the right to vote at AGMs and EGMS, and are eligible for election or co-option to the Board.

Corporate And Associate Membership

Corporate Membership is for Incorporated organisations. Associate Membership is for Unincorporated organisations. A voluntary, not for profit or charitable organisation in Wester Hailes whether corporate or unincorporated can apply to join WHCT if it can show that it an organisation that supports WHCT’s purposes and

Is based within Wester Hailes and is of benefit to the people living there.

OR

Operates within Wester Hailes and is of benefit to the people living there.

Corporate And Associate Members can nominate a named individual to represent them. They have the right to vote at AGMs and EGMs, and are eligible for election or co-option to the Board.

Honorary Membership

You can apply to join Wester Hailes Community Trust if you are aged 16 or over and

You do not live in Wester Hailes and you support the purposes of the organisation

Honorary members do not have a vote at AGMs or EGMs. They are only eligible for co-option to the Board.

How Do I Apply?

To apply for membership, you need to fill out an application form which you can find on the Wester Hailes Community Trust website, or contact us via phone or email to have an application form sent to you.

Your application will be considered at the next available meeting of the Board, and you will be advised of their decision as soon as possible after that meeting.
